Let’s talk about roots, and maybe my propensity to be a hospice house for plants. No seriously, I’m their last stop before inevitable death. I’ve killed succulents... let that sink in for a sec... succulents. I’ve never been a great gardener and a pretty basic house plant enthusiast. My amazing husband is the exact opposite - the man could make roses bloom in the desert. More than once I’ve asked him for flowering bushes, I even came home ... Read More
Summer Activities for Kids
Last day of school!!! Awesome! Oh wait... what do I do with these kids now? This is our first year with a kid in school, and with Summer looming my first thought was, "What in the hell am I going to do with him not in school or daycare?" Luckily, we registered E with some amazing camps to keep his body and mind active, but I know there are a ton of stay at home mom's that are looking at today with both excitement and dread... Happy(?) Mental Health Awareness Month
I’ve debated hitting publish on this post for 31 days. So here’s to practicing what I preach - authenticity, courage and vulnerability. I’m a full-time working mom. I’m not the mom in the cul-de-sac at 3:30 watching my kids play, I’m the mom getting home at 5:30, walking my dog and cooking dinner. I don’t have time for bullshit or cliques, either you like me or you don’t, but it’s still hard ... Read More
Mom Guilt
The mom guilt is so real right now. It has rained 17 out of the last 20 days here in SC, or it’s been too cold and windy to send the kids out to play. We’ve done crafts, emptied every bin in the toy room, and built more forts than I know what to do with. But when my energy is gone and I’m over it - I resort to screen time, and oh if there hasn’t been an overload of screen time in our house because of the weather. I was talking with some ... Read More
